What You'll Learn

You’ll learn how to deliver and monitor allied health programs, support physiotherapy treatments, understand client functional status, assist in nutrition and meal planning, and contribute to rehabilitation efforts. You’ll also build skills in communication, legal compliance, and working with diverse people in community or clinical settings.

Course Units

This course includes 16 units in total:

- 7 core units – covering foundational skills for working in health environments, including communication, body systems, legal and ethical compliance, and workplace safety.

- 9 elective units – chosen to build practical skills across physiotherapy support, nutrition assistance, rehabilitation, and community health.

You’ll also have the flexibility to tailor some elective units based on your preferred career path, with options that support physiotherapy assistance, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or general allied health roles.

4. Recognise healthy body systems
5. Confirm physical health status

7. Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately

Elective Units

8. Deliver and monitor a client-specific physiotherapy program
9. Support the delivery and monitoring of physiotherapy programs for mobility
10. Assist with the development and maintenance of client functional status
11. Support the fitting of assistive equipment
12. Assist with planning and evaluating meals and menus to meet recommended dietary guidelines
13. Assist with the monitoring and modification of meals and menus according to individualised plans
14. Support food services in menu and meal order processing
15. Assist with screening and implementation of therapeutic diets
16. Work within a community rehabilitation environment
