Level 4 in School-Based Education Support equips you with the skills to effectively support students with diverse needs in both primary and secondary school settings.
This course prepares you to support students with disabilities, neurodiverse individuals, or those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, making a meaningful difference in their learning journey.
You’ll gain the skills to work alongside teachers to improve student outcomes, including:
•Building supportive relationships with students and families
•Empowering students with academic strategies
•Communicating effectively with school staff about student progress
The course includes 120 hours of practical placement, allowing you to apply your skills in real classroom settings. Key topics include:
•Child development and learning
•Supporting literacy and numeracy
•Assisting students with disabilities or autism
•Guiding students at risk
To complete your practical placement and qualify for employment, you must provide:
•A valid Police Check
•A Working with Children Check
•Immunization proof (if required by the placement host)
Failure to submit these documents on time may prevent placement completion and hinder course progression.
